2013, May: Workshop on Proposed evaluation tested with pilot compounds (Human Health and Environment)

In this workshop the proposed evaluation method to assess the risks for human health (of operators and workers, as well as of consumers) and for the environment was tested for a combination of 6 compounds and crops, used in Ethiopia. These combinations had been selected as being combinations that possibly bear risks for consumers or for drinking water production from surface water or from groundwater. This workshop was specifically intended to inform the Pesticide Advisory Board members on the proposed evaluation method and to obtain their feedback.  In addition other staff members (than those present in December 2012) from the so-called dossier team of the APHRD, Animal and Plant Health Regulatory Department, of the Ministry of Agriculture of Ethiopia were trained by staff from the Ctgb, Board for the Authorization of Pesticides and Biocides of the Netherlands. During the workshop the proposed procedure was improved and the future Evaluation manual for the APHRD was expanded.
