Aquatic Ecological Risk Assessment of Pesticides in Ethiopia:

Goal:

  • Is to establish ecological risk assessment frame work of pesticides for the Ethiopian surface water systems

Method:

  • Preliminary risk assessment of pesticides using the national data, use data at the study area and scenario parameters at the study area level using the PRIMET and FOCUS steps 1,2 models
  • Toxicity testing of macro invertebrates and comparison of results with the European species
  • Biological and chemical monitoring to asses effects and the application of traits as a possible pesticide pollution indicators
